Kareem Hatem, the representative of the Cairo Al-Ikhbariya channel from Sharm el-Sheikh, said that the extended meeting to discuss the implementation of the plan of the American President Donald Trump regarding the Gaza Strip is still ongoing until now, after it started for about an hour, he explained that the positive atmosphere favors the meetings according to the diplomatic sources involved.
He confirmed, in a phone interview on “Al-Qahira Al-Ikhbariya” channel, that the Egyptian mediator is working on the preparation of the situation, to reach an agreement including a ceasefire, which includes the introduction of humanitarian aid to the sector as the first phase of the route.
And further, that the meetings witnessed bilateral and multilateral meetings preceded the extended session, where the Turkish delegation met with the delegation of the Hamas movement, while the American envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and the American delegation, which includes Jared Kushner, met with the head of the Egyptian Public Intelligence Al-Lwaa Hassan Rashad, to discuss the items proposed in Trump’s plan to end the aggression on Gaza and prepare the climate for subsequent understandings.
Karim Hatem pointed out that the Israeli media reported positive indications about what is going on in Sharm el-Sheikh, and even talked about the possibility of American President Donald Trump visiting Israel in the coming days, as part of the final touches on the cease-fire agreement.
