Latest Netflix film release sees breakout stars of two of the streaming platforms successful series team up for a twist on the horror genre.

Time Cut is a unique take on the slasher movie with time travel elements as a high school student travels back to the year 2003 to try and solve her sister’s murder.

One of the stars of the film is Antonia Gentry who burst onto the scene with her role in the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.

Her new film releases just in time for Halloween but viewers may be wondering more about the star of the movie and more about her life off screen.

Early Life

Antonia Bonea Gentry was born on September 25, 1998 and raised in Atlanta. Georgia.

She is mixed-race with her mother originally hailing from Jamaica and she knew she wanted to be an actress since she was five years old.

Gentry would perform in community theater projects in plays her mother would write and went on to study drama at Emory University, while also joining the school’s comedy improv troupe.

While graduating in 2019, she was already balancing professional acting jobs with her studying alongside a part-time job to support herself.

After leaving college, Gentry moved to New York and adopted a cat named Butterworth.

Where you’ve seen her before

Gentry had a small role in the Netflix film Candy Jar and appeared in one episode of the streaming platform’s series Raising Dion.

However, her breakout role came as soon as she left college when she bagged the role of Ginny Miller for the Netflix series Ginny & Georgia.

She plays Georgia’s teenage daughter who has never lived in one place long enough to form a lasting relationship.

The show was renewed for a third and fourth season last year.

Time Cut isn’t the only lead role for Gentry in a movie this year as she also appeared in Prom Dates released on Disney+.

She plays one of two friends who must quickly find new dates for their prom.

While expected to return for more episodes of Ginny & Georgia, Gentry will also appear in a film next year called The Upside of Falling Down.

The synopsis states it is about a young American woman who survives a plane crash in Ireland and runs away from the hospital.

Who is Antonia Gentry dating?

Gentry is largely private when it comes to her dating life.

While it was reported she was in a relationship with musician Ezra Pounds apparently her high school sweetheart, it has also been claimed that they have since broken up with images of them on Instagram allegedly being removed.

She last referred to a boyfriend in a 2023 interview, where she claimed they were responsible for igniting her obsession with the reality series Love Island, although she said it is the only reality show she watches.
