Adoptions now open for The Salvation Army of North Texas’ Angel Tree program – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and The Salvation Army of North Texas invite you to adopt an Angel from The Salvation Army Angel Tree. This holiday tradition will bring joy to 30,000 children, seniors, and adults with special needs in North Texas and will ensure that their wish lists are fulfilled.

The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program has helped our most vulnerable neighbors have a joyful Christmas for nearly 50 years. Adopting an angel not only gives them happiness but it also creates lasting hope throughout the year. Angel adoptions, monetary donations, and volunteer efforts help The Salvation Army of North Texas meet needs all year long.

How to Adopt
Once an Angel has been registered, their Christmas wish list is cataloged by The Salvation Army and available for the public to adopt. Items suggested for purchase can include essentials like new clothing, pajamas, hygiene and care products, and shoes, or could be lighthearted gifts such as toys, games, or sports equipment.

Adoptions are now open and will close on December 6.

  • Angel Tree adoptions are open to the public and can be completed online HERE.
  • Supporters can adopt an Angel in the county that they live in across North Texas.
  • Angels can be adopted in-person at participating retail locations. The location will have Angel Tree tags on Christmas trees for you to adopt your Angel.

Participating Retail Locations:

NorthPark Center
Galleria Dallas
North East Mall
The Shops at Willow Bend
Golden Triangle Mall
Hulen Mall
The Parks at Arlington
Forgotten Angel tags will also be available at select retailers, which helps The Salvation Army make Christmas happen for those who were adopted but their wishes weren’t completely fulfilled, and they are still in need of gifts.

How to Return your Gifts
Once the new, unwrapped items have been purchased, North Texans can bag their gifts per Angel, with the corresponding Angel Tree tag, and drop them off.

  • Drop-offs will be available on December 5-6 from 11 am – 5 pm at participating retail locations.
  • Drop-offs are also accepted at The Salvation Army’s Corps Community Centers across North Texas weekdays from November 3 – December 6.
  • The last day to return your gifts is December 6.

How to Volunteer or Donate
Those who are unable to adopt an Angel can volunteer to sort Christmas gifts for distribution or make a financial donation to ensure all Angels receive items on their wish lists.
From December 12-18, The Salvation Army will distribute gifts to families across North Texas.
