A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Friday afternoon in Little Italy, according to police.
Someone fired shots from a car that pulled next to the boy around 4:15 pm in the 1300 block of West Grenshaw Street, Chicago police said in a statement.
The teenager, identified as John Thomas, was struck in his chest and leg, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead.
