Al-Hilal Al-Ahmar Al-Espri is showing its efforts to support the people in Sudan since the beginning of the crisis in April 2023 until April 2025, where Al-Hilal immediately responded to the crisis by being present on the border and establishing humanitarian service points and child-friendly spaces to provide psychological and health support services, and help those affected to contact their families and even move them to their places of residence inside Egypt.

Dr. Amal Imam, the executive director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, expressed Al-Hilal’s efforts in responding to the Sudanese crisis in the public domain, saying: “The Al-Hilal group responded immediately to the relief of the Sudanese people by establishing humanitarian service points on the roads of Qastal and Arqeen, two days after the crisis began, on April 17, 2023.


The executive director of the Egyptian Red Crescent pointed out that the readiness of the Al-Hilal branch in Aswan has been strengthened to ensure the availability of relief supplies, and the activation of the response team to manage the field operations in Aswan and along the Egyptian-Sudanese border, the mobilization of volunteers, the preparation of the necessary relief materials, the establishment of humanitarian service points in the main locations, including: the border crossings between Egypt and Sudan, the cities of Abu Simbel and Aswan, and the Aswan train station.


She explained that the immediate response was provided through the provision of first aid, the establishment of medical clinics on the border, psychological support, the distribution of personal hygiene bags, food items, the provision of financial aid, the provision of assistance to people with disabilities and the elderly, and the provision of accessibility, the coordination of various means of transportation to transport people to the places they wish to visit, and the provision of services to restore family ties and internet and communication services.


Imam revealed the volume of services provided to Sudanese victims from April 21, 2023 to April 14, 2025, explaining that 12,940 local and national phone calls and internet services were made to support family ties between immigrants and their spouses inside and outside Egypt, psychological support services were provided to 10,253 victims of the crisis, financial aid was distributed to 5 thousand families, medical services were provided to 52,526 beneficiaries.


He added that 210,410 personal hygiene bags, 1,306,137 water bottles, and 1,022,305 dry meals were distributed, indicating that three ships carrying more than a thousand tons of relief aid were sent to Sudan in cooperation with the Egyptian government.


I confirmed that these efforts are being carried out by hundreds of volunteers on the streets of Qastal and Arqeen, for 340,000 and 82 hours, and the participation of each volunteer since the beginning of the response to the crisis.
