Witnessed by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, the inauguration of “Raseef Abbas” in Minato Gharb, Boursa’eed after development, in the presence of the Minister of Industrial Development, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, Dr. Sharif Farooq, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, President of the Al Suis Canal Authority, Waleed Jamal al-Din, President of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of Al Suis Canal, Dr. Amro Othman, Deputy Governor of Boursa’eed and a number of officials.

During the inspection of the developed wharf, Walid Jamal al-Din explained that the project to develop Wharf Abbas is a pivotal step towards improving the overall performance of the Port of West Port Said, reflecting the authority’s vision of making the port a platform capable of receiving large ships and serving the growing trade traffic across the Mediterranean, pointing out that the wharf is now ready to receive ships up to a depth of 14 meters, which will enhance the port’s ability to compete regionally and internationally, affirming that رصيف اباس is a model of what we seek to achieve through modern infrastructure, flexible operational spaces, and high logistics capabilities, supporting the objectives of the Swiss Canal Economic Zone to become a global center for trade and maritime services.

He added: The main stage of the project included the implementation of huge construction works to ensure the readiness of the quay to receive ships up to a depth of 14 meters, which contributed to the improvement of the operational efficiency of the port significantly, and the development work included the creation of a new back yard for the Abbas quay with an area of 18,000 square meters, a loading capacity of 8 tons/m², at a cost of 66.6 million pounds, and this yard came to compensate for the lack of sufficient storage spaces previously, which It enhances the capabilities of Al-Mina in the service of the large ships, and allows cargo to be handled more smoothly and efficiently.
