EXCLUSIVE: Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness) is in talks to join Aubrey Plaza and Alana Haim in The Heidi Fleiss Storythe upcoming dark comedy serving as a biopic for “Hollywood Madam” Heidi Fleiss.
De Leon will play Madam Alex, the larger-than-life Beverly Hills madam who taught Heidi everything she knew, before Heidi stole it all. Half mentor, half tormentor, Alex ruled her empire from a four-poster bed — brash, brilliant, and impossible to cross. The original madam of all madams.
The Heidi Fleiss Story takes place in 1993 Los Angeles, where a powerful young woman named Heidi Fleiss (Plaza) is arrested for running the largest high-end prostitution ring in the world. With the unlikely help of an aspiring writer, Jacolyn (Haim), who vows to be the one to write “The Heidi Fleiss Story,” Heidi scrambles around LA trying to blackmail and leverage various connections to get the case dropped.
Shooting in Los Angeles early next year, the film marks the feature directorial debut of Leah Rachel, who’s working from a script written with Travis Jackson and Rachel Sennott. Jessamine Burgum and Kara Durrett are producing for Pinky Promise, alongside Plaza for Evil Hag Productions.
Golden Globe- and BAFTA-nominated for her work in Ruben Östlund’s acclaimed satire Triangle of SadnessDe Leon was most recently seen starring alongside Nicole Kidman in the second season of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers. Other past credits included Jackpot!, Between the Temples, Ghostlight, and Ang duyan ng magitingfrom her native country of the Philippines. Upcoming, she’ll be seen opposite Tatiana Maslany in the Apple series Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. She is repped by Gersh, Fusion Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
