The head of the Al-Dawaa Committee is discussing with the Philippine ambassador the regulation of medical trade between the countries

He received Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, the head of the Egyptian Medical Authority, Ezz Al-Din Tajo, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Arab Republic of Egypt, accompanied by Crystal Ann Donovan, the Second Secretary and Consul at the Philippine Embassy, ​​as part of an official visit aimed at discussing the scope of joint cooperation in the field of medicine and regulating the trade of medical products between the two countries.

Tavalan side a number of important topics, including a discussion on how to facilitate registration procedures for Egyptian pharmaceuticals and medical supplies in the Philippines, and explore opportunities for mutual recognition of registration files, which contribute to speeding up the availability of safe and effective medicines for citizens in both countries.

In his welcoming speech, Dr. Al-Ghamrawi praised the strength of the bilateral relations between Egypt and the Philippines, confirming the Authority’s desire to strengthen technical and regulatory cooperation with counterparts in different countries of the world, and explained that the expansion of international partnerships represents a key pillar to support the national industry and enable Egyptian cosmetics to access new markets, in light of the Authority’s commitment to developing the control system according to the highest international standards.

Al-Ghamrawi confirmed that the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority attaches great importance to expanding the scope of international cooperation with similar bodies, as one of the main points of support for the national industry and facilitating the introduction of Egyptian pharmaceuticals to new markets, and stressed that building strategic partnerships with countries such as the Philippines contributes to the exchange of technical knowledge and the development of regulatory capacities, which enhances the quality and efficiency of the Egyptian regulatory system and serves the goals of sustainable development in the pharmaceutical sector.

For his part, Arab Ambassador Ezz Al-Din asked for his appreciation of the outstanding role played by the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority in the development of the pharmaceutical sector, leading to the Authority’s achievement of the third maturity level (ML3) according to the World Health Organization’s global assessment tool, which reflects its continuous commitment to quality standards, as he emphasized the country’s desire to strengthen institutional cooperation and exchange information with Egypt, which supports joint exports and access to new markets.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Amani Joudt, Assistant President of the Authority and Supervisor of the Central Administration of the Office of the President of the Authority.

The meeting will be held in order to build a strong international cooperation with similar organizations around the world, to support the development of the national regulatory system according to the best international standards, and to contribute to the exchange of technical knowledge and the strengthening of institutional capacities.

It also reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to adopt strategic policies that contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian pharmaceuticals, and expanding their presence in regional and international markets, in order to serve the goals of sustainable development, and support the vision of the Egyptian state to develop the pharmaceutical sector as a key pillar of the national economy and public health.
