EXCLUSIVE: Julia Fox (Uncut Gems) has boarded Radio Silence’s feature adaptation of Loserthe award-winning short from Colleen McGuinness, as both a cast member and an executive producer.
Details as to the role she’s playing are under wraps. Angourie Rice leads the thriller as Alice (Rice), a brilliant but troubled physicist who attempts to heal her trauma by using time travel, but gets caught in a twisty, cat-and-mouse game of murder and violence in New York City.
Other previously announced cast members include Finn Bennett, Lukas Gage and Eric Nam. Additional newcomers to the project include Jordan Ladd (Death Proof), Erika Henningsen (The Four Seasons), Kathleen McNenny (Morning Glory), Ana Yi Puig (Goosebumps), Eric Cheung (Dexter: Resurrection), Jerrod Haynes (Native Son), Hanna Hall (The Virgin Suicides) and newcomer Vera Briseño. Henningsen, McNenny, Briseño and Cheung return after starring in the original short film.
McGuinness is directing from her own script and producing alongside Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett for Radio Silence, as well as Dan Lawler (Strange Darling) and Bow and Arrow Entertainment’s Michael Sherman (Native Son). Findley Davidson (Caught Stealing, Nonna) is serving as Casting Director, and WME and CAA are co-representing sales for the film.
Best known for roles in the Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems and Steven Soderbergh’s PresenceFox has most recently been seen in Universal’s Jordan Peele-produced psychological thriller Himopposite Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers, and Netflix’s chart-topping thriller Night Always Comesopposite Vanessa Kirby. She had two films premiere at Tribeca over the summer — The Trainer and Fior Di Latte — recently guest starred on FX’s Adults and CBS’s Elsbethand is next set to appear in indies including Perfect, Northboundopposite Bruce Dern, Mykonos and The Deputy.
Fox also exec produced and co-starred in the indie comedy Idiotwhich premiered at SXSW in March. She is repped by Framework Entertainment, WME, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
