In a new step to enhance the security of users, the popular messaging platform “Watsab” has announced the launch of the “Passkeys” feature, which provides a more convenient and secure way to access encrypted backups of conversations. This feature is expected to be available to users gradually over the next few weeks, according to the company.
The new feature allows users to restore their backups without having to enter complex passwords or save long passcodes, as they can rely on a fingerprint, face recognition feature, or screen lock code that was used on the previous device.
“Watsab” has provided 2021 full backup encryption feature using passwords or keys made up of 64 characters, which is an important step to protect data, but it required users to save these keys manually to later restore their data, according to the site “تك كرانش”.
With the way of keys, the company confirms that the process has become simpler and more secure, so that it combines the advantage of ease of use and a high level of protection.
