A number of the stars of art in the Arab world shined during the opening of the fifth session of the Bahrain Film Festival 2025, which was launched this year under the slogan “short films, great stories”, and witnessed the ceremony honoring the Syrian artist Mona Wasif.

Honorable Mention at the Bahrain Film Festival

I witnessed the ceremony to honor the Syrian artist Mona Wasif, in recognition of her long artistic career that has extended for more than five decades so far, where she was able to leave a mark in the world of Arabic cinema and drama through her works.

And she spoke with sadness about the absence of cinema in some countries, pointing out that cinema in all countries of the world has a power that they don’t count on, and said: “Unfortunately, in the days of rest in the cinema, it was possible for me to rest in the cinema, except if I traveled for good.. That’s why I don’t imagine the power of cinema and art and knowledge in them. When we appreciate all the beauty of things, we don’t have enough time to dream about it.”

وشهدت عفكتيات عليها هوزور كل من شجون الحاجري و فاطمة الصفي, للتين لفتتا الاذاء بيثالتحما والتحميل دهي عليهما, هد تعريف بنهما صداقة منذ 20 عاماً.

كما ضم الحدور المصري العنتي محمد ممدوح, والمحقر كريم الشناوي, وشيكو, ورامي يمام, وشيما سيف, ومحمد شروت, واحمد فتحي, والفنانة مني واسف, والفنان عبدالله بوشهري, واضوى الفهد.

Bahrain International Film Festival 2025

The activities of the fifth session of the Bahrain Film Festival took place under the slogan “short films… great stories”, with the participation of a select group of Arabic cinema stars and film producers from various countries.

The festival is organized by the Bahrain Cinema Club in cooperation with the Ministry of Information during the period from October 30 to November 4, 2025, where it aims to celebrate the art of the short film. The course includes several workshops and dialogue sessions.

The conversational activities will start on the second day of the festival, where the Egyptian producer Karim Al-Shanawi will present a session entitled “Journey of Storytelling”, followed by a workshop “Designing the world in games and motion pictures” by the Bahraini artist Ahmed Al-Bastki, and the day will end with a session “Art of persuasion: how to change your film idea as a professional” with the Egyptian producer Mustafa Matowli.

اما اليوم إليه في بدور بجلسة “كيف تولد القصاص العزيمة على المنيرة” is introduced by the Egyptian producer and producer Rami İmam, followed by a painter with the writer هيثم دبور حول “الموازنة بين الفنيك والتجاري”.

The fourth day’s activities include the section “Reflections on Herstory Films’ shelter”, which showcases the benefits of cooperation between the company and the Bahrain Cinema Club as part of an initiative to support Bahraini film makers.
