FERWAFA agreed to the participation of three of Sudan’s most prominent clubs in the 2025-2026 Al-Rawandi premier league for the 2025-2026 season.
Al-Hilal and Al-Marikh Al-Gharriman traditional clubs from the city of Am Durman will be participating, and all of them will be together with 50 of the 54 titles of the Sudanese league in the Al-Roandiya competition this season, along with Al-Ahly and Madani’s two-time Sudanese club.
And the decision is still pending the approval of the African Union of Soccer “KAF”, as the new season of the Al-Rowandi league has already completed four rounds, and the schedule of matches is scheduled to be updated to include the Sudanese clubs in the competition.
Al-Wadheer mentions that the APR Al-Rowandi team, based in the capital city of Kigali, is the holder of the title of the local league during the last six seasons.
And in the city of Sudan, which has a population of 48 million, the civil war broke out in April 2023 between the Sudanese army and the rapid support forces, resulting in the death of more than 150 thousand people and the displacement of about 12 million.
Despite the war, the Sudanese team qualified for the 2025 African Nations Cup, as it was drawn in the fifth group alongside Algeria, Burkina Faso and Eastern Guinea.
