‘I charge my husband £85 twice a month – it teaches him an important lesson’

A mum-of-two has opened up about how she charges her husband £85 twice a month in order to teach him an important lesson – and to make up for the ‘hard times’ of being a woman and a mum

A woman has revealed she gets paid £85 by her husband twice a month in what she calls a ‘women’s tax’ to help pay for the extra expenses that come with being a woman.

Camilla Do Rosario is a mum-of-two from Colchester, Essex, who often shares snippets of her life on TikTok. In a recent video, she revealed the reason she charges her husband £85 twice a month as compensation for what she goes through that he doesn’t.

“My husband pays woman tax,” Camilla revealed. “This tax is charged twice a month and it works out to around £2500 per year. This tax is to compensate me for the fact that I have to have a period every single month, I had two brutal pregnancies where I vomited most days, and then I had two C-sections.

“Now, my husband actually came up with the idea and he pays my mani and pedi twice a month. It costs roughly £85 per month. I cannot explain how happy getting a mani and pedi makes me. It really does make up for that week of bleeding.”

When talking about why the ‘tax’ was put into place, Camilla argued: “Women honestly have such a hard time. I feel like men got away very easy in this life. So yeah, they should be paying women tax.

“I also feel really passionate about setting an example to my children that they should be taken care of and also to take care of themselves. They love seeing what designs I’m gonna choose the next few weeks.”

Viewers took to the comments to call the payment ‘genius’ and wondered how they could make their partners agree to a similar arrangement.

“Why is this not more normal??” one person asked, while another person said: “Where do ya find men that do this!!”

A third person jokingly said: “I think I may have to implement this in my marriage.” “My husband pays $120 out of each of his pay checks for my ‘woman tax’ his co-worker thought it was dumb. So lucky I have my husband,” another viewer commented.

However, not everyone was on board with the idea, as others went on to call the fee ‘ridiculous’ and ‘pathetic’. “Women have given birth since the dawn of time, it’s not difficult.

“You expect payment to be a mother?! How pathetic are you!!!!!!!” one user wrote.
