The General Health Care Authority, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, announced the success of 11 microsurgical operations to remove brain tumors and brain tumors at Al-Salam Hospital, affiliated to the Authority in the Governorate of Port Said, using the latest microsurgical techniques, based on advanced surgical procedures.
The operations were carried out during a major surgical workshop in which the Korean expert Prof. Se-Hoon Kim, head of the neurosurgery department at the University of Korea and one of the prominent leaders of the International Society of Spinal Cords, with the Egyptian team led by Dr. The precise neuromonitoring and monitoring, which contributes to the reduction of the safety rate and the reduction of the complications, among the steps of the body, to the technology of the precision surgery.
As the General Authority for Health Care announced the success of 11 complex surgeries in the specialty of spinal surgery within the Swiss Medical Complex, including cases of herniated disc herniation and cervical and lumbar spinal tumors, the most prominent of which was spinal stenosis using advanced neurosurgery and neuromonitoring techniques.
The operations were carried out with the participation of the Turkish expert Prof. Onur Yaman Onur Yaman, head of the Spine Association for the Middle East and one of the most prominent specialists in the world in the employment of spinal monitors and in cooperation with the Egyptian team, Dr. Abd Al-Hafeez Shahab, Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Al Suez Canal, and Professor Dr. Hossam Al-Neumani, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Al-Manufiyah.
And in Al-Qasr Governorate, the Egyptian Spanish team succeeded in performing 10 minute surgical operations to remove the skull base using the al-Qadii microscope, inside the Al-Karnak International Hospital, the most prominent of which is the removal of the skull base, which is one of the best neurosurgery specialties.
The surgical operations were carried out by the Spanish expert Professor Joequim Ensenat Nora, head of the neurosurgery department at the University Hospital in Barcelona, and the founder of the ETOS international organization for skull base surgeries, with the participation of the Egyptian team consisting of Dr.
And the surgeries witnessed the use of the latest techniques of alkalosis monitors, surgical instruments, and nerve monitoring devices, which led to the most accurate operations and reduced surgical intervention, in line with the global focus on minor surgeries and providing safer health care.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki confirmed that the implementation of these precise operations is part of the organization’s strategy to implement medical recruitment programs and exchange information with leading international experts, explaining that the joint work between the Egyptian teams and their counterparts from Korea, Turkey, and Spain forms an advanced scientific platform for training medical personnel, and making the most of international surgical experience within the organization’s hospitals.
He added that this simultaneous workshop that was held in three governorates (Boursaid – Al Suwis – Al Qusr) during three days, is an actual translation of the plan of the authority to improve the quality of the services provided, especially in the highly skilled, precise specialties, while presenting the most important surgical models in the region.
He concluded his statement by affirming that the General Authority for Health Care is making progress in the implementation of international programs and cooperation with international medical and research centers, with the aim of treating rare and complex cases, and applying the latest innovations in the clinical field, which enhances the ability of the Egyptian medical team to deal with various clinical challenges.
He pointed out that investing in the human element, and enabling doctors to have direct access to international surgical experiences, represents the cornerstone in building a leading national health model at the level of the region and the world, explaining that the organization is working to establish regional centers of excellence within its facilities to be the reference in medical specialties.
