And the leader of the French national team underwent a thorough check-up at the Clearfontein training center to ensure his condition before the upcoming meeting.
The French national team is in the top of the fourth group table with 6 points after winning against Ukraine and Iceland, and they are aiming to achieve the third victory in the tournament.
On the other hand, Azerbaijan’s team is in the last place with one point from a draw with Ukraine and a defeat in front of Iceland.
The French team has more of a scenario for the early elimination, as it is enough to win the match in front of Azerbaijan and Iceland, with a draw between Iceland and Ukraine, to guarantee a pass to the 2026 World Cup, which will involve 48 teams for the first time in history.
It is mentioned that the European qualifying system for the World Cup stipulates that the leaders of the 12 groups will be selected directly, while four additional seats will be decided by the extension in March 2026 with the participation of 16 teams.
