China ranks first for Egyptian imports at the level of East Asian countries

The data of the Central Bureau of Public Mobilization and Statistics showed that the People’s Republic came in the first place for the Egyptian imports on the level of Eastern Asian countries.

Egypt’s total imports from China increased by 18.7% in 2024 to 15.7 billion dollars compared to 13.2 billion dollars in 2023, the official said.

And the most important items that were imported were electrical appliances and parts.

It was published in the annual report “The trade volume between Egypt and the main countries of Sharq Asia” 2024 and the volume of foreign trade (exports – imports) and the countries of Sharq Asia are Malaysia, China, India, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong and Bangladesh.

The total value of exports reached 1.7 billion dollars in 2024 and 3.7 billion dollars in 2023, a decrease of 53.4%.

The total value of imports from East Asia was 26.2 billion dollars in 2024, compared to 23.3 billion dollars in 2023, an increase of 12.5%.

The total of animal products, plants, beverages, and tobacco came in the first place for exports to the main countries of Eastern Asia with a value of 400 million dollars in 2024 compared to 600 million dollars in 2023, a decrease of 21.8%.

The group of machines, automatic and electrical machinery, transport equipment and parts came first for imports to the main countries of East Asia, valued at 9.5 billion dollars in 2024, compared to 7.9 billion dollars in 2023, an increase of 20.4%.

India ranked first in exports with a value of 400 million dollars in 2024 compared to 1.2 billion dollars in 2023, a decrease of 52.3%.

And the most important items that were exported to India were gold, silver, gold, stones, and jewelry.

And in second place, with a value of 400 million dollars in 2024 compared to 1.1 billion dollars in 2023, a decrease of 63.6%, and the most important items exported to China were edible fruits and vegetables.
