The entertainment world was saddened on Wednesday when it was revealed that the singer had passed away at the age of 65 following a long battle against cancer. Linda passed away with her famous sisters by her side and reports revealed that her final hours were said to have been full of “love and comfort”.

While the chart singer was born in Dublin, Ireland, she found fame along with her sisters when they formed their band, The Nolans, in Blackpool in 1974. Linda went on to settle in the English city – and it was here that she passed away.

On Wednesday night, the Northern city paid tribute to the singer by turning the iconic Blackpool Tower pink in her honor. The 518ft structure was illuminated after sunset – with a pink heart added near the base.
