The campaigns, which were carried out by the Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade in cooperation with the executive bodies and local units, resulted in the release of 218 miscellaneous supplies after passing through the stores and markets in various centers and cities of the governorate.
It included 120 violations against the city’s supermarkets due to underweight, non-compliance with specifications, and poor hygiene in baking tools, as well as 98 violations in the markets for not announcing prices and selling goods of unknown origin or at prices higher than those specified, as well as confiscating 34 kilograms of meat and its products that are unfit for human consumption in the city of Al-Saba.
The governor confirmed that these campaigns are part of the governor’s plan to monitor the markets and ensure that traders adhere to the official prices, quality standards and safety of food products, stressing that there will be no compromise with any opposition to the health of citizens or violation of their rights, and that legal action will be taken against all those found guilty of supply violations.
Abolimon added that the campaigns will continue on a daily basis in coordination with the supply and security agencies to ensure the availability of basic goods with appropriate quality and fair price, confirming that the state is willing to control the markets in the current economic conditions to reduce the burden on the citizens.
