Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, head of the General Authority for Health Care, met with a high-level delegation from major German companies specialized in industries and health services, at the headquarters of the main authority in the new administrative capital, to discuss ways of joint cooperation and strengthening partnerships between the government and private sectors, as well as reviewing investment opportunities in the Egyptian health sector, and expanding international partnerships with the German side.
The meeting took place within the framework of the joint coordination between the General Authority for Health Care, the German Embassy in Cairo, the German Ministry of Health, and the German Health Alliance (GHA), in a step that reflects the interest of both sides in deepening bilateral relations in the health field, and opening promising cooperation horizons based on the transfer of technology, the exchange of information, and the provision of the best advanced health services to the Egyptian citizen.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki witnessed the signing of the joint cooperation protocol between the General Authority for Health Care and the German Health Alliance, where Dr. Amir Al-Talwani, the Executive Director of the Authority, and the German side, Dr. Armin Smaylovic, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the German Health Alliance, witnessed the signing.
The protocol aims to support cooperation in a number of priority areas, most notably: implementing the concept of partnership between the public and private sectors, developing medical education programs and continuous training for service providers, exchanging knowledge and promoting innovation in the health care system, supporting access to the latest technologies in the fields of diagnosis and treatment, as well as discussing opportunities for joint investment in infrastructure and medical technology.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki confirmed that the partnership with the German side is a pivotal step towards the transfer of advanced German technology and news to Egypt, contributing to the provision of smart, sustainable, and high-quality health services. He added that the organization aims to establish a long-term strategic partnership through innovation and cooperation between all parties.
He pointed out that the comprehensive health insurance system provides an ideal model for accommodating this type of international cooperation, as it represents a legal and regulatory structure that is cost-effective, and operational flexibility allows the adoption and application of the latest international experiences in providing the service.
The head of the authority said that Egypt has become one of the most promising markets in the health sector, thanks to the strategic vision built by the political leadership to develop the health infrastructure and improve the quality of services, making it a regional center for health investment.
He confirmed that the authority seeks to attract international partners in the health sector, such as leading German companies, to contribute to strengthening the capabilities of government health institutions, and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery, making the private sector a key development partner.
The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence in health care, which are among the strategic priorities of the organization in the next phase. Dr. Al-Sabki explained that technology is one of the pillars of the development of the health system, pointing to the importance of introducing artificial intelligence tools in the fields of early diagnosis of diseases, improving the efficiency of care delivery, and monitoring the quality of services.
He confirmed that the organization is in the process of implementing its vision of an integrated digital health system, and that cooperation with German companies, with its knowledge and technology, is an effective step toward achieving this goal.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki expressed his interest in the Authority by launching model training programs in cooperation with German companies, with the aim of improving the efficiency of the medical and professional staff working within the Authority’s facilities in the protection of the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system, contributing to the development of the profession and achieving justice in the distribution of high-quality services to all citizens.
He explained that continuous medical training and education is one of the most important components of quality in health care, and that Germany is one of the leading countries in this field, opening the door to the real use of advanced experiences.
Dr. Al-Sabki praised the seriousness and professionalism shown by German companies in discussing cooperation opportunities, confirming that these companies are real success partners in developing the infrastructure, technology and services of the Egyptian health sector, especially in the presence of the political and legislative will and the full support of the Egyptian state to move forward in the health reform file.
