The Iraqi Media and Communications Authority suspended the program “Studio Al Jamahir” presented by the sports journalist Haider Zaki on the “Al-Nahreen” TV channel, for fifteen days, after witnessing one of its episodes where heated arguments between the guests turned into open arguments live on air, amid the use of expressions described as “stupid” and inappropriate gestures.
The authority explained in the official statement that the decision came in accordance with the rules of media broadcasting, confirming that the program exceeded the professional limits of the media through its content that conflicts with the values of the general public and shows the image of the Iraqi sports media.
The authority officially warned the “Al-Nahreen” channel because of what happened in one of the episodes that aired on October 8th (Tashreen Awl).

The incident caused a wide wave of debate on social media, where followers expressed their displeasure at the excessive activity in Iraqi programs, demanding stricter controls to protect the image of the local media.
While the others saw that the reality revealed the rising tension in the Iraqi basketball landscape and the odds between the locals and the previous players.
