Oprah says this on-sale Laura Geller makeup palette is ‘great for the over-40 woman’

Laura Geller’s Party in a Palette is serving serious holiday glam, and it’s on sale at QVC. The clever beauty bundle even earned a spot on Oprah’s Favorite Things list two years in a row, in 2002 and 2003. neither Lady O herself said“Makeup artist Laura Geller has been helping women of all ages feel and look their best for decades. Her latest palettes take the guesswork out of makeup; each contains six eyeshadows, a blush and a highlighter in shades that look flattering on all skin tones.” With an endorsement like that, you really can’t go wrong, and QVC has a four-pack on sale for $30 — under $8 a pop. Stocking stuffers, anyone?

Why is it a good deal? 💰

Laura Geller is something of a legend in the beauty world, and her award-winning cosmetics, from foundations and concealers to eyeliners and lipsticks, are coveted on QVC. It’s not every day they go on sale, though. These palettes would set you back $88 if you purchased them separately, so scoring four for $30 is truly an early Christmas present (and the lowest price we’ve seen in a long time).

If you’re new to QVC, you can score $20 off your first order of $40 or more with code WELCOME20. And if you don’t want to pay in one go, take advantage of QVC’s Easy Pay — your items will ship right away, and you’ll pay for them in interest-free monthly installments.

Why do I need this? 🤔

Geller’s cosmetics are known for flattering all women, especially those over 40, and this party-ready set is no exception. It includes four palettes: Launch Party, with festive gold shades; Glamorous Gala, with mauve and berry hues; Night at the Opera, with smoky neutrals; and Opening Premier, in earthy browns. Each one includes six creamy, blendable eyeshadows, one blush and one contour shade (either a highlighter or an additional blush). The long-lasting formulas mean you won’t need to reapply a few hours later. This video shows the palettes in use.

“These four makeup palettes go from day to night, natural to dramatic, and are especially great for the over-40 woman,” Oprah said. “Each features six eyeshadows, a mix of blushes, bronzers, highlighters and a mirror — all at an unbeatable price.”

Need another reason to snap them up? They’re ideal for travel, offering easy-to-combine colors in one flat, compact package. Plus, without liquids, your makeup won’t leak onto your clothes or computer, and you won’t need to pull this out at security. We can’t think of a better gift for a friend who travels, or someone who wants a multi-functional makeup item to throw in her bag and go.

What reviewers say 💬

QVC shoppers literally “wait all year” for this Laura Geller cult favorite.

Pros 👍

“(This is) my third year purchasing these palettes and I’m very pleased, as always!” raved one makeup maven. “The colors are different and I wouldn’t think they would work for my skin type, but they do. Just a fun splurge — even though you can’t beat this price — that I treat myself to every year.”

Another devotee agreed: “This is the kit I get every year because it gives me eyeshadow, blush and highlighter options all year long. Such beautiful colors that you can mix as you see fit. Every year is a different blend and they all include great options. Treat yourself and/or give as gifts. So worth it.”

“Usable colors. Fantastic blushes, big mirror. Perfect for travel,” wrote a five-star fan. A fourth shopper even called the palettes “perfection at last.”

Cons 👎

While each eyeshadow shade is labeled with a specific application (base, crease, lid, liner), some shoppers wished there were more specific instructions on how to best apply the different shades. “I am not a makeup artist and would have liked guidance on how to put these eye products on,” said one.

Another praised the “really pretty eyeshadow colors,” but wished the bronzers and blushes were more pigmented. “But overall, these palettes are really worth the money!” they said.
