The profits of the German automotive industry company “Mercedes-Benz” fell sharply in the third quarter of this year.
The company announced in its headquarters in the trading city today, Wednesday, that the group’s profits decreased compared to the same period last year by approximately 31%, from 71.1 billion euros to 19.1 billion euros.
According to the data, the company’s sales fell in the third quarter by 9-6% to 14-32 billion euros.
The CEO, Ola Keilinios, said that the quarterly results were in line with the expectations of the entire year.
As the group announced, its profits decreased during the first nine months of this year by 3-50% on an annual basis, from 80-7 billion euros to 87-3 billion euros.

And in order to restore profitability, the board of directors announced in February last year that the program is aimed at reducing production costs by 10% by 2027, as well as reducing fixed costs and improving material costs. According to the administration, the size of the austerity program is about 5 billion euros compared to previous internal plans.
The company’s adjusted operating profit before interest and taxes reached 1 billion euros in the third quarter, compared to 2.5 billion euros in the same period last year. Weak sales in China and the United States led to a new decline in “Mercedes-Benz” sales, where the company sold 525,300 cars and minivans in the third quarter, down 12% compared to the same period last year.
During the first nine months of this year, total sales of individual cars and small trucks at Mercedes reached 6.1 million vehicles, a decrease of 9%. And the company has already recorded in 2024 a decline in sales of 4% to nearly 4-2 million vehicles, due to the crisis witnessed by the automotive industry.
