Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, President of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, signed a joint memorandum of understanding with Dr. Romison Rodríguez Mota, Executive Director of the National Health Surveillance Agency of the Republic of Brazil (ANVISA), within the framework of the agency’s efforts to expand international cooperation and build strategic partnerships with similar organizations around the world, to strengthen technical and regulatory cooperation in the field of medical products, and to support efforts to provide safe and effective medical products to the Egyptian and Brazilian market, and to facilitate further scientific cooperation and research. The future between the countries.
وأكد الدوكتر علي الغمراوي that the signing of this memorandum is an important milestone in the body’s efforts to strengthen its international relations with the influential regulatory agencies, pointing out that the cooperation with ANVISA reflects the increased confidence in the efficiency of the Egyptian medicine system and its regional and international regulatory initiatives.
Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi pointed out that this step comes as part of the strategy of the Egyptian Medicines Authority to strengthen its international presence, and to take advantage of international expertise in the development of regulatory systems, which contributes to ensuring the quality, safety and effectiveness of medical products in the Egyptian market.
He confirmed that the organization is in the past in building partnerships with major regulatory bodies around the world to support innovation and stimulate investment in the pharmaceutical sector.
On his part, Dr. Romison Rodrigues Mota explained that this memorandum represents a strategic step to strengthen cooperation between the regulatory systems in Egypt and Brazil, as the Brazilian agency seeks to build a long-term partnership with the Egyptian Medicines Agency to contribute to the development of regulatory systems and the exchange of technical and scientific information.

The participants from the Brazilian agency confirmed that this partnership represents a real opportunity to exchange successful information and develop joint projects in the fields of scientific research, training and drug inspection, in order to achieve integration between the two countries and contribute to improving the efficiency of regulatory systems and developing them to the extent that they serve the health and safety of patients in Egypt and Brazil.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Egyptian Medicines Authority, Dr. Hanan Amin, Head of the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Products, Dr. Amani Joudt, Assistant President of the Authority and Supervisor of the Central Administration of the Office of the President of the Authority, Dr. Mahjoub, head of the central inspection department, and doctor Mahab Fadi, head of the central inspection department, and doctor Hamadda Jamal, assistant head of the body and general manager of the public administration for recording human preparations.
From the Brazilian side of health monitoring (ANVISA), Mrs. Laila Sofía Maoudz, head of foreign relations with the agency, Mr. Felipe Dias, Mrs. Anna Carolina Marino from the office of foreign relations with ANVISA, along with a number of experts using the online communication technology.
