The Ministry of Health and Population continues its efforts to ensure the provision of safe and compliant medical services in medical facilities attached to hotels and tourist villages, where an intensive inspection campaign was carried out in the Red Sea Governorate during the period from 27 to 31 July 2025, including the inspection of 28 medical facilities, in cooperation with the Egyptian Medicines Authority and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, to ensure compliance with the highest standards of quality and health safety, and to protect citizens and visitors from any illegal practices or fraud at the cost of medical services.

Dr. Hussam Abd al-Ghfar, the official spokesman of the ministry, confirmed that these campaigns are carried out according to the instructions of Dr. Khaled Abd Al-Ghfar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to intensify control over medical facilities, especially in tourist provinces, to ensure reliable health services.

“عبدالغفار” pointed out that the ministry will take legal action against any entity that opposes the standards or tries to manipulate the prices of medical services, protecting the rights of citizens and visitors to tourist cities.

For his part, Dr. Hisham Zaki, head of the Central Department of Free Treatment and Contraception, explained that the campaign detected several contrabands, including the operation of unauthorized clinics in hotels (Al-Sinbad, Al-Zahabiyya, Titanic Blas, Premier Lourif), as well as the operation of a non-authorized pharmacy in the medical facility affiliated with the Albatros Bay Hotel, where drugs of unknown origin and without receipts were seized, as was written in the report of the presence of contraband drugs in عيادة فندق الظابهية, with a 25-month medical prescription to correct the disadvantages such as not announcing the price lists or technical specifications.

The Ministry of Health and Population confirms its commitment to continue inspection campaigns in the Red Sea and the rest of the tourist provinces, to ensure compliance with health standards, and to protect the safety of citizens and visitors, while firmly addressing any attempts to manipulate the prices of medical services, to strengthen confidence in the health and tourism system.
