Jake Ryan, Dagmara Dominczyk & Kelsey Asbille To Star In ‘Adulting’

EXCLUSIVE: Jake Ryan (Asteroid City), Dagmara Dominczyk (Succession) and Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone) have wrapped on Adultingan indie romantic comedy written and directed by Harris Gurny, in his feature debut.

Shot in New York, the film follows a floundering postgrad whose codependent relationship with his mother is tested when he falls in love with her 30-year-old girlfriend. Hailing from Ford Films, in association with Wild Cocoon, it’s produced by Lucas Ford, Neo Li and Joey LePage. David Midgley exec produced, with Olivia Mastrangelo and Irina Slepneva co-producing. Matthew Glasner cast the project.

The film’s supporting cast includes Diego Torrado, Grace Brennan, Anne Lois Bullington and Simon Longnight. Gurny came to make it after working as a producer, ushering features such as Coup! and The God Committee to major festivals including Venice, Tribeca and SXSW.

Best known for his frequent collaborations with Wes Anderson, Ryan has most recently been seen in Asteroid Cityhis other projects with the filmmaker being Moonrise Kingdom, Isle of Dogs and a stop-motion Sony Xperia commercial, as well as a short film directed by Anderson. In film, Ryan’s other credits include Bo Burnham’s Eighth Gradethe Safdie Brothers’ Uncut Gems and the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. Also seen on shows like Splitting Up Together, The Comedians opposite Billy Crystal, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and most recently Chad for TBS/Roku, he is repped by Gersh and Thruline Entertainment.

Currently, Dominczyk can be seen starring opposite Jason Bateman and Jude Law in the Netflix series Black Rabbit. She recently starred in the indie Miller’s Girl with Martin Freeman and Jenna Ortega and also appeared opposite Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny in Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla. Additionally seen in shows like Succession and We Own This Cityshe is repped by Innovative Artists and Amplified.

Asbille is best known for starring as Monica Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone opposite Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly; Sheridan wrote the role for her after directing her in Wind River opposite Jeremy Renner and Jon Bernthal. Most recently, she was seen in Netflix’s horror-thriller Don’t Move with Finn Wittrock, which held the top film slot on the streamer for two consecutive weeks. Additional credits include Noah Hawley’s Fargo and the upcoming psychological thriller The Techniquewhere she stars opposite Emma Roberts, Ben Platt, Laura Harrier and Nicholas Alexander Chavez. She is repped by CAA, Entertainment 360 and attorney Huy Nguyen.
