Jason Momoa Ditches His Signature Long Waves for Most Shocking Hair Transformation Yet

At this point, Jason Momoa‘s long, flowing locks are the stuff of Hollywood legends. Whether he’s wearing his hair in long braids or loose in soft waves, his hair is seriously impressive. However, Momoa just ditched his long hair and went (almost) completely bald.

For fans of Momoa’s legendary locks, fear not: the transformation appears to be nothing more than a bald cap. In a new ad as part of his campaign for Chime, Momoa plays a series of different characters dealing with the madness of Christmas season gift-giving. One of his characters was a bed salesman, for which he rocked a horseshoe hair style that was completely bald on top and long and auburn on the sides. Momoa also donned a pair of glasses and a checked gray suit.

“We had a lot of fun creating the different characters and bringing the energy of the holidays to life,” he said in a press release about the campaign. “At its core, the campaign reflects Chime’s mission to have financial tools work harder for people, and capturing that spirit on screen was a blast.”

Although Momoa almost always wears his hair long, earlier this year, he shaved his beard for the first time in six years. He previously shaved his beard in 2019—prior to that, he last shaved his beard in 2012. “I’m shaving this beast off—it’s time to make a change,” he said at the time. “Looks pretty good!”

Back in 2020, Momoa wore a pink scrunchie in his long hair while speaking to InStyle. “Pink is just a beautiful color,” he said of his hair style. “And I’m pretty secure in my masculinity. I don’t really give a shit what anyone thinks.” Clearly, not much has changed.
