When your job is going to beautiful hotels and writing about suffering, vacation looks like suffering on an island. Mike White is among the returning all-star players Survivor 50seven years later Survivor: David vs. Goliath, which was his original season. That’s well before he was writing the biggest hit show on television, The White Lotus, which premiered in 2021. Notably, White’s fellow DvG castaway Angelina Keeley, who was featured in the season-two premiere of White Lotus, will also be returning. White has featured contestants from his original season on every season of the HBO drama — is he just going back on Survivor to find his next cast? Below, everything we know about Survivor 50.
Along with Mike White, this season will feature contestants dating back to the first season of the show all the way up through Survivor 49which hasn’t even aired yet. We’re most excited for the return of Chrissy Hofbeck, who got royally screwed by the final-four fire-making twist in her first season.

Survivor 50 will be known asSurvivor: In the Hands of the Fans.“ During season 48, fans voted on different elements of the game online, all of which will be implemented in the upcoming season. One thing to note: The players won’t know what the fans voted on until it happens. The categories include “Idols or No Idols,” “Final-Four Fire-Making: Keep It or Lose It” and “Live Finale and Reunion Show in LA — or Keep the Winner Reveal and Aftershow in the Jungles of Fiji.”
Although the cast is confirmed now, Survivor 50 isn’t airing until next spring, after season 49 airs in the fall. In the meantime, all potential viewers have time to catch up on the previous 48 seasons of the show. Or just three seasons of White Lotus.
