Tenoch Huerta & Richard Cabral Join Thriller ‘Eleven Days’

EXCLUSIVE: Indie prison hostage thriller Eleven Days has rounded out its cast with the addition of Tenoch Huerta (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and Emmy-nominee Richard Cabral (Mayans MC).

They join the previously announced cast led by Diego Luna, which includes Taylor Kitsch, Jason Isaacs, Jeffrey Donovan, Jennifer Carpenter, Lola Kirke, and John Gallagher Jr. Peter Landesman serves as the project’s director.

Inspired by true events and the book “Eleven Days in Hell: The 1974 Carrasco Prison Siege at Huntsville, Texas” by William T. Harper, Eleven Days recounts the true story of prisoner Federico Carrasco (Luna) taking control of the Huntsville Penitentiary during the sweltering Texas summer of 1974.

The prison’s priest, Father Joseph O’Brien (Isaacs), joins forces with Jim Estelle (Kitsch), head of the Texas Department of Corrections, by offering himself as a hostage to out-game Carrasco and his men, in an effort to save the lives of the other hostages that have been taken

The screenplay was written by Kevin Sheridan, with revisions by Landesman. Deanna Brigidi, CSA & Andrea Bunker, CSA served as casting directors. Vincent Newman and Vance Howard are producing.

Huerta reunites with Luna on the project, following their work together on Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico. Huerta recently wrapped work on Avengers 5reprising the role of Namor, which he originated in Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

His recent work includes Darren Aronofsky’s film, Caught Stealingbased on the best-selling books, and starring as Juan Preciado in Netflix’s film, Pedro Paramo. He first gained recognition for his work in Cary Fukunaga’s award-winning film Sin Nombre. Huerta is repped by WME.

Cabral and Luna previously co-starred in the action crime thriller Blood Father (2016), based on the Peter Craig novel of the same name. Cabral is best known for playing Coco on the FX series Mayans MCwhich earned him a Critics’ Choice Award nomination for his work, and the anthology series for ABC American Crime. For his portrayal of Hector Tontz in Season 1, he received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series in 2015.

His recent credits include NBC’s Law & Order: SVU and Peacock’s Twisted Metal. Cabral is repped by Paradigm, Atlas, and Yorn Levine.
