Love Is Blind season 9 has highlighted some of the worst relationships in the show’s history, but their lack of focus on Jordan Keltner’s mysterious job has exposed a deeper truth about the show’s ineffective nature. Love Is Blind season 9 has been hailed one of the show’s worst by viewers, but despite poor relations, the intrigue hasn’t died down just yet.
The participants in Netflix’s most iconic reality TV dating series have made it clear that they’re ready to be open, honest, and upfront about who they are in order to find love, but it’s never quite as easy as it seems to open up. Whether it’s participants lying by omission about past relationships or withholding other details, Love Is Blind often comes up short.
The couples of Love Is Blind season 9, who have been dropping like flies since the pod phase of the experiment came to an end, have seemingly been prepared to open up to one another about their futures, but Jordan’s cagey attitude about his job hasn’t been sitting well with viewers or “Sparkle” Megan Walerius as the show inches closer to the altar.
Jordan Keltner’s Job As A Service Manager Hasn’t Been Explored On Screen
However, He’s Been Open About His Son & Single Dad Life
While Love Is Blind’s official cast bios introduced Jordan as a service manager ahead of the season, there’s been very little understanding of what he does for a living on the series. Although that may not be a major factor in some relationships, Jordan’s relationship with Megan has a two-fold reason that his profession would matter to their busy lifestyles.
First and foremost, Jordan has consistently been open about his young son whom he shares with an ex-girlfriend. As a single father, Jordan obviously needs to be able to provide for his child, and his career details have yet to make it clear how he does so. On top of his child, Jordan’s consistently spoken about how busy he is, and how much energy his work takes.
Not understanding his profession makes it inherently difficult for viewers to be able to feel empathetic towards Jordan, especially as he moves forward in his journey with Megan. While it’s possible Love Is Blind star didn’t want to divulge much about his career, Jordan’s life being on screen demands a level of authenticity that many viewers aren’t feeling from the single dad.
Jordan’s Secretive Job Highlights Love Is Blind’s Flawed Approach
The Couples Aren’t Seeing All Of Each Other On Screen
While the decision to keep Jordan’s professional life out of the spotlight could be personal, it exposes a recurring issue that Love Is Blind has had throughout its run. The show’s experimental nature isolates its contestants early on and allows them to open up in a more vulnerable way than if they were face-to-face, but doesn’t necessarily push them to be honest or genuine.
throughou Love Is Blind’s years on screen, viewers have seen contestants withhold information that could have helped their partners in the pods make better decisions for their time in the experience. Finding themselves in relationships without all the key information, Love Is Blind has allowed its contestants to build fragile relationships, then put them to the test within a matter of weeks.
After years of watching their contestants crash and burn, Love Is Blind is still allowing participants like Jordan to stay quiet about things that are important to their partnerships. Rather than pushing the truth or, at the very least, an explanation that details have been talked about privately, Love Is Blind cares more about the impending drama than the possibility of fulfillment.
