You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.
Deals writer Alexandra Polk and I have been scrolling through lots of brands’ sales bins this week. Ban.do, Dermstore, and the Gap have perpetually full-to-the-brim bins with good deals, so we found the best of the bunch from each. One thing I noticed while doing so: It seems people are preparing for summer travel, because swimsuits, luggage, and comfy walking shoes are starting to hit the clearance bins. There’s plenty of all three below. But if it’s beauty you’re after, head to Sephora’s Savings Event, which is packed with good deals and ends Monday.
As always, make sure to sign up for the Strategist Sales Alert newsletter to receive each day’s best deals in your inbox. And if you want even more, sign up for our regular email newsletter, which includes deals just for newsletter subscribers.

This three-pack of our (and Joanna Goddard’s) favorite underwear is on sale in select colors: Only the combo pictured here is half off at Amazon, while you can find a few more patterns for $14 (that’s under $5 apiece) at Macy’s.

Several Strategist staffers swear by Gap’s CashSoft fabric, which is made to feel like cashmere but take less effort to care for. This baby tee should keep you warm, but not overheated, during temperamental spring weather.

Discounts vary by color and pattern (of which there are 12), but you won’t be paying more than $19 for any of these T-shirts.

Sale items are an extra 50 percent off at Anthropologie this weekend, meaning this fluttery Reformation top is now just $50.

Alex Mill’s all-cotton cardigan has a bit of a cultlike status with the Strategist team, myself included. I spotted the striped version, which looks like a good spring-weather staple, for 25 percent off at Bloomingdale’s.

Clearance items are an extra 20 percent off at Nordstrom through Sunday night. Polk spotted this extra-baggy pair of Levi’s in a nice medium wash.

Our updates coordinator. Jacquelyne Germain, recently purchased these wide-leg khakis, which remind me of the Madewell Harlows that we (and our readers) love.

Some short UGGs in spring colors are on sale: Seafoam blue, pictured here, and sugarplum pink are $80, while a darker desert blue is $90. If your size sells out at Nordstrom, seafoam and sugarplum are on sale at Macy’s for $105.

And on the opposite end of the spring-shoe spectrum, chunky leather fisherman sandals that come in three colors.
If you’re looking for some simple black swimwear, the Gap is a good place to look. A balconette bikini top and matching bottoms will only set you back $70 after discounts.

Get on the nightgown train. This midi-length one features delightfully poufed sleeves and little buttons on the chest and is made entirely from cotton. A pale-blue version is also on sale for $4 more.

If you’d prefer sleeveless, this one has a tie-front and stitching around the hem. Discounts again vary by color; the aqua number pictured here is $26; white is $28; and a floral pattern is $35.

Cotopaxi is holding a Winter Wind Down Sale, where seasonal colors and some best sellers are up to 50 percent off. And through April 14, you can stack the code EXTRA15 at checkout to take an additional 15 percent off. This gorp-y tee that you could wear on the trail or just out and about is on sale in three colors.

Some Samba-y Golas are over half off at Men’s Warehouse, of all places.

A nice suede option, too.

A colorful duffel that’s like a suitcase on your back. (And it’s waterproof!)

A really excellent deal on this pastel tote!

Everything at one of our favorite travel brands, Paravel, is 25 percent off. Writer and stylist Diana Tsui recommended these monogrammable packing cubes to us, which she says “make it easy to separate my husband’s gear from mine since we shove all of our snowboarding clothes into one suitcase.”

Paravel’s bigger carry-on, the Aviator Carry-On More, is $120 off.

Hundreds of actually good beauty products are 30 percent off at Urban Outfitters. I spotted some products from my favorite purveyor of glittery makeup, Kaleidos, in the mix. Five shades of its Space Age highlighters, which have a shifting multi-chrome finish, are now under $10.

Byoma’s affordable skin-care products are vegan and cruelty-free and have been garnering a lot of praise lately. Now you can see what all the hype is about for even less. Perhaps start with this moisturizer that’s supposedly good for all skin types.

Or stock up on some lightweight chemical sunscreen.

Beauty writer Tembe Denton-Hurst named Vacation’s sunscreen oil as one of our best. She says the lightweight formula absorbs quickly and makes her skin look “hydrated and renewed.”

Everything at Aveda is 25 percent off, which Nordstrom is price-matching. Fashion designer Rosie Assoulin told us this cherry-almond shampoo is so precious that she rations out dollops to her daughters.

To help natural hair retain length, hairstylist Jon Reyman likes to use this hydrating spray as a first layer. “It doesn’t sit on the surface of curly hair, which often happens because curly hair tends to have a lower porosity,” he says. “These molecules are small enough to penetrate without adding too much weight.”

The supremely easy-to-use (and celebrity-approved) Be Curly curl enhancerincludes a hydrolyzed wheat protein and aloe blend to add body and volume to hair.

Sephora’s semiannual Savings Event wraps up on Monday night. Polk, who has been covering the sale, noted that the discount code — which offers 10, 15, or 20 percent off everything, depending on your tier level — also applies to on-sale items, so you can get an even better deal on this Dyson dupe.

It’s nearly time to swap out heavy-duty winter bedding for something airier. This European-flax quilt from West Elm is on sale in four colors (as are the matching shams), though the discount varies by color: Silver mist, pictured here, is the cheapest at 59 percent off.

I spied one Nest candle for 40 percent off in a refreshing mint-and-eucalyptus scent.

For those who prefer florals (or have a nosy cat), this Voluspa diffuser is 25 percent off.

If you’ve already got the Best in Class Matin lamp from Hay but feel like mixing things up, a few shades from the brand’s collaboration with Liberty London are up to 50 percent off at Design Within Reach.

Anthropologie makes very nice velvet curtains; these are now 65 percent off.

A dog bed that won’t clash with your décor and comes in four sizes.

A solid deal on a washable rug: Everything at Revival Rugs is 20 percent off with the code EARTHLY20 through the end of the month.

Handheld vacuums don’t go on sale very often, and when they do it’s usually below my good-deal threshold of 20 percent off. But behold, the Black+Decker DustBuster (basically the origination of the genre) is $10 off.

Another good spring-cleaning buy: a non-ugly basket to chuck bric-a-brac into.

Graza is offering 20.74 percent off sitewide through April 21 for its first-ever “Springsgiving” sale. We actually do approve of its Instagrammable olive oil; as writer Dominique Pariso says in her ode to Graza, “The squeeze bottle means no slippery caps, no greasy bottles, and, most important, no accidental overglugging. Never again will I overdress a salad or drown my roasted veggies. Instead, I drizzle and douse with precision and control.”

Good Easter-gift alert: The Toniebox audio player is 30 percent off at Amazon and Kohl’s, which is the best discount we see on the toy. The starter set comes with the Playtime Puppy Tonie, a 52-minute compilation of traditional children’s songs.

Everything at Magna-Tiles, one of our favorite brands of building toys, is 20 percent off with the code MTSPRING20. (And shipping is free for orders over $50.) This set includes a space shuttle with double doors that open to store all of the set’s pieces.

Clixo is also offering 20 percent off everything right now. The pieces are compact, lightweight, portable, and made of a durable synthetic paper that can be bent, twisted, and combined to make toys, crowns, bags, and abstract sculptures.
