Joel Moss, A Seven-Time Grammy-Winning Producer, Engineer and Mixer Who Worked on Doses of Films from Pretty in Pink and Little Shop of Horrors them City Slickers, A Few Good Men and Chicago, has died. He was 79.

Born on May 11, 1946, in Detroit, MOSS WAS A LUGTIME MEMBER OF THE ACADEMY OF MOTION Picture Arts and Sciences Became A Go-To Recording Many Top Film Scores. Along with Those Listed Above, he worked on Footloose, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sister Act, Sleepless in Seattle, Mosquito Coast, Dead Poets Society, Gorillas in The Mist and dosens of oters.
He amassed 11 Career Grammy Nominations, Winning Album of the Year and Another for Ray Charles’ 2004 Swan Song Genius Loves Company. He Also Scored Grammys for Broadway’s Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and In the heightsAlong with the Chicago Film Soundtrack and Tony Bennett’s Playin ‘With My Friends – Bennett Sings the Blues. HIS Other Broadway Cast Recording Credits Include Hair, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Drowsy Chaperone, Earning grammy noms for all three.

MOSS WORKED WITH MANY TOP ARTISTS DURING HIS 60-CARERER INCLUDING The Eagles, Little Richard, Johnny Cash, Joe Cocker, Cissy Houston, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Groundbreaking Work with Talking Heads. With The Band’s Revered 1984 Documentary Stop Making Sensehe was the first person to transfer analog recordings to 24-track digital.
Working at Caffe Lena in Sararatoga Springs During the past several years, he dedicated his time and talent as a writer, sound designer and archivist to Friends and Local Musicians who performed. Moss is survived by His Wife, Terri-Lynn Pellegri; Daughter Rachael Moss; Grandchildren Zuzu Booth and Griffin Booth; Brother Gary Moss and Sister-in-Law Andrea; and Sister Karen Hale and Brother-in-Law Richard; Along with Many Nieces and Nephews.
