Kaost launches the spark of deep technology renaissance in the Kingdom via the “Nick Era” camp

With the spirit of innovation and aspiration, it exceeds the expectations, 16 Saudi emerging companies in the field of deep technology concluded their journey within the activities of the “Nextera” camp, which was hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAAST) on May 27 and 28, 2025.

The camp, which is organized by Kaost, in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Program (NTDP), is a strategic platform aimed at accelerating the growth of emerging technical companies, and activating their role in pushing the national transformation within vital areas that include health, cybersecurity, energy, and other sectors related to the Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. Ian Campbell, Vice President of the National Transformation Institute at Kaost, said:
“The Nicks Era program succeeded in building an integrated system of deep technology in the Kingdom, as its emerging companies raised financing exceeding $ 250 million, and contributed to creating more than 170 jobs so far. Thanks to the innovation and entrepreneurship environment in Kaost, these companies find optimal support for launching and achieving sustainable growth.”

For his part, Mohamed Al -Muammar, Executive Director of Products at NTDP, explained that the program focuses on supporting bold companies that lead innovation, saying:
“We believe in the importance of filling the financing gap in the areas of deep technology, and providing support to ambitious founders who formulate the future through research and development. This batch embodies the Saudi vision towards leadership in innovation.”

The third batch included startups carrying promising technical projects in various fields:

  • Artificial intelligence and analyzes: “data” and “datalexing” provides advanced solutions in the data analysis and decisions based on data.

Inspiring success story: “Sarsatx” and a qualitative shift in the space sector:
The program highlighted the success story of “Sersatx”, which was launched in the first batch, as it developed small ground surveillance satellites using radar technology with artificial opening (SAR). The company collaborated with King Saud University to launch the “SSX-1” system, the first SAR air-mobile system in the Kingdom, and also launched the “Earthlife” platform to analyze space data. The company has concluded strategic partnerships with Aramco and others, and recently closed a $ 2.6 million financing round.
